July 9th is National Sugar Cookie Day!

It’s July 9th, and do you know what that means?  It’s National Sugar Cookie Day! Today, we honor a cookie that’s as simple as they come, but always a hit.  You just can’t beat a good sugar cookie!  Traditional sugar cookie recipes call for just six ingredients: sugar, flour, butter, eggs, vanilla, and baking powder—easy breezy!

You might suggest that it's just a plain cookie, but you’re not being creative.  If the butter/sugar combo isn’t enough for your tastebuds (side eye glance), sugar cookies can be cut into shapes and decorated--like mine!  Another flavor-bonanza’ed tweak is to toss some M&M’s into the batch…you can thank me later. There’s something to be said for an M&M sugar cookie. And don’t mistakenly confuse it with its cousin, the chocolate chip M&M cookie, which adds brown sugar into the mix!
I’ve found a few “random” M&M sugar cookies that I love:  Schnuck’s grocery store in central Illinois in the deli area, and dagnabbit if those M&M sugar cookies at the Walgreen’s checkout aren’t the most delicious thing EVER.)

Celebrate National Sugar Cookie Day and make yourself a batch today, or visit Lindy’s Cookie Studio and enter the code sugarcookie13 for 40% off your cookie order.  But ya better hurry, this coupon expires at 11:59pm tonight, July 9th, National Sugar Cookie Day!

And tell us, how do you like your sugar cookies?  Soft and chewy?  Crispy? A dusting of sugar on top?  Why don't you tell us in the comment section of Lindy's Cookie Studio's very first blog post!

Bake it a great day!
Lindy
